Talc with the proportion of 2.7 to 2.8 is lubricant, anti-adhesion, flow aid, fire resistance, acid resistance, insulation resistance, high melting point, chemical inertness, good hiding power, soft, shiny, strong, etc.
China’s current annual production of talc is 245 million tons. Market demand is about 210 million tons. Therefore, in general, talc is still oversupply in China. But production capacity of the raw materials of high-grade white talc is at 50 million tons, whose further increase is unlikely. The domestic and international market demand for high-grade white talc is at least 90 million tons, so there is a gap in talc supply of long-term. Low-grade talc, especially black (gray) talc is oversupply, and its output can still be further improved.
The growth of talc industry in future has two ways: 1. to improve the added value of high-grade raw materials; 2. expand export or further processing of affordable products.
