IMPACT hammer crusher : THE FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Impact hammer crushers are hammer mills that are particularly used for primary and secondary crushing of feed materials from mining and pit and quarry industries.

THE FEED MATERIALS

Various kinds of ore, medium-hard rock such as raw gypsum, limestone , shale, petrol coke and similar feeding materials.

THE MODE OF OPERATION

After entering the crushing radius of the rotor, the feeding material is grasped by the beater heads and crushed by being thrown against the beater head respectively the impact wall. A second crushing process is carried out in the lower section between the rotor and the impact wall. The impact hammer crusher is resistant to foreign matters entering the mechanism, thanks to the flexible suspension of the beater arms on the rotor.

The setting of the impact wall towards the crushing radius of the rotor (gap width), as well as the circumferential speed of the rotor, are the major determinants of the reduction ratio and the final grain size distribution. The adjustment of the impact walls also functions as a compensation for wear and tear.

THE SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF IMPACT HAMMER CRUSHER

The rotor is a one-piece forged steel construction. Alternatively, it can be especially constructed as a disc rotor. To guarantee a vibration-free operation, the drilling-holes to support the beater arm bolts are drilled on a special apparatus with an exactly equal division.

Impact hammer crushers are constructed in such a way that they can be operated at both rotor speeds, constant and variable. Ease of maintenance is guaranteed by inspection flaps and a hinging device to open the housing.

The reversibility of the rotor and the arrangement of impact walls on both sides guarantee an optimum use of the hammer heads without having to be turned. As the hammer heads are wearing parts, they can finally be replaced.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPACT HAMMER CRUSHER

A reversed rotational direction is possible with the reversible impact hammer crusher. So both sides of the hammer heads are used. With the conventional impact hammer crusher model, the impact walls are mechanically adjusted.

Upon request, the impact hammer crusher can also be provided with hydraulic impact wall adjustment. Depending on the crushing demands of various materials, the machines can be driven in different ways:

A – constant rotational speed Here, a belt drive is used. When the driving power is high, the driving disc is positioned separately. A
flexible or a liquid coupling is inserted towards the motor. If preferred, a reduction gear can be flexibly coupled as a direct drive instead of the belt drive.

B – variable rotational speed A variable rotational speed enables the operator to influence the final grain size distribution quickly and easily. There are two models: The use of a manual transmission The use of a liquid control coupling with infinitelyvariable range of control and a constant rotational speed during load variation.

THE VERSATILITY

Depending on their application, a number of different machine models and additional equipment are used:

– Reversible impact hammer crushers
Here, the operating direction is reversed so that the beater heads are optimally used without having to be turned. A number of different drive concepts are available. Impact hammer crushers can be operated with constant or variable rotational speed.

– Mechanically adjustable impact walls
To compensate wear and tear and to vary the grain spectrum.

– Hydraulically adjustable impact walls
For frequent changes in the type of work to be performed, depending on product quality and grain spectrum.

– With a replaceable grate
To limit the quantity of oversized grain. Not suitable for moist, sticky and clayey materials.

– Housing with hydraulic opening mechanism
To open the housing. The necessary time for replacing worn-out parts or even a fully-equipped rotor, is thus considerably reduced.
