The Kwale Mineral Sand project is located in Kenya, some 40Km south of Mombasa. This advanced-stage development project is expected to be one of the largest producers of limonite and rutile in the world. Its production is estimated to reach nearly 10% and 14% of the global supply of these minerals respectively.
Owned and operated by Base Resources, the Kwale Mineral Sand project is now undergoing an enhanced definitive study of mining feasibility. The construction is expected to begin the year 2011.
Located in east Africa, Kenya has a total area of 582,650 square kilometers (224,962 square miles), rendering it slightly larger than twice the size of Nevada. With a coastline of 536 kilometers (333 miles), Kenya borders the Indian Ocean to the east, Somalia to the northeast, Ethiopia to the north, Sudan to the northwest, Uganda to the west, and Tanzania to the south. It is suitable for crushing bulk materials at fixed open-bit quarries or mines. This type of plant is equipped with a jaw crusher for primary crushing and two cone crushers for secondary crushing. Accordingly, you will need two vibrating screens after the two cone crushers for product separation. the output size is 0-8mm, 8-15mm,and 15-26mm.
