Feeding the plant this material we recommend the following:
a. Scalping Grizzly: To scalp off the small amount of +4″ material as feed to the primary crusher.
Recommendation: Nordberg 30″ x 10′ feeder -grizzly serves the dual purpose of scalper and feeder. See Bulletin TB74-1.
b. Primary Crusher: To crush 15″ x 4″ material – approximately 115-150 TPH.
Recommendation: Nordberg 24″ x 36″ heavy-duty jaw crusher . Size determined from Bulletin TB74-1.
c. Plant Feed Control: A material source to provide constant feed for continuous plant operation.
Recommendation: Stockpile of grizzly undersize and jaw crusher product. Tonnage of material drawn from stock pile may vary as pit run always changes.
d. Sizing screen No. 1: This screen accepts material from stock pile and extracts the +¾” x No. 4 and No. 4 finished products.
Recommendation: 6′ x 16′ – 3 deck Nordberg GP screen. Size of Screen No. 1 arrived at by using Nordberg GP screen capacity chart. Analysis of feed to screen can be estimated using above pit run analysis with analysis of jaw crusher discharge.
e. Material Flow Control: To divert 1½” x ¾” material to secondary crusher or to finished product.
Recommendation: Flop Gate.
f. Secondary Crusher: To crush 4″ x ¾” fraction.
Recommendation: 4¼’ CS standard cone crusher with 1″ C.S.S. To determine size of crusher refer to CS cone crusher Bulletin 322 B. Select medium liner per TD4-102 from crusher cavity tables.
g. Sizing Screen No. 2: To separate discharge from both the secondary and tertiary crushers .
Recommendation: 6′ x 16″ 3 deck Nordberg GP screen.
h. Material Flow Control: To divert 1″ x ½” material to tertiary crusher or to finished product.
Recommendation: Flop Gate.
i. Tertiary Crusher: To crush +½” material form Screen No. 2.
Recommendation: 4¼’ Short Head cone crusher with ½” C.S.S. Procedure of determining size described below. Select fine liner per TD4-091 from crusher cavity tables.
Applying these tonnages to the Nordberg GP screen cavity chart we find a 6′ x 16′ 3 deck screen is required.
Applying these tonnages to the Nordberg GP screen capacity chart we find a 6′ to 16′, 3 deck screen is required.
j. Material Flow Control: To divert ¾ x No. 4 material to finished product or to Gyradisc crusher.
Recommendation: Flop Gate.
k. Material Source for Gyradisc Crusher: Separate section of plant. It will be operated when increased sand production is required. Gyradisc crusher must operate under full choke load.
Recommendation: Surge Bin.
l. Feed Control for Gyradisc Crusher: Optimum performance of Gyradisc crusher is dependent on steady controlled feed rate.
Recommendation: Mechanical Feeder.
m. Fine Reduction Crusher: To product – No. 4 sand.
Recommendation: Nordberg 48″ Gyradisc crusher. Refer to Nordberg Gyradisc crusher Bulletin for capacity figures.
n. Sand Screen: To close the circuit with Gyradisc crusher and separate the – No. 4 x No. 8 and – No. 8 sands.
In determining the size of screen No. 2 and the Tertiary crusher we consider a combination of factors. To size the Tertiary crusher determines the amount of +½ material in the 200 TPH discharge from the 4¼’ Standard cone crusher. Nordberg crusher Data Sheet TD7-012 shows this to be 78 percent or 156 TPH. In addition there is +½” material in the 4¼’ Short Head cone crusher discharge.
According to the chart in CS cone crusher Bulletin 322 E it, amounts to 55 TPH. Between the two crushers the total +½” material is 211 TPH. The flop gate diverts a portion of the – 1″ x ½” fraction to finished product and controls feed within the capacity of a 4¼’ Short Head crusher in closed circuit at a ½” C.S.S.
To determine size of screen No. 2 combine analyses material discharged from both the 4¼’ Standard and 4¼’ Short Head crushers. Use Nordberg crusher Data Sheet TD7-012.
Figures are as follows:
Recommendation: 6′ x 16′ 2 deck Nordberg GP screen. To calculate sand screen size take tonnage and analysis figures of Nordberg Gyradisc crusher Bulletin 385 C and apply them to Nordberg GP screen capacity chart.
o. Material Flow Control: To return portion of –No. 4 x No. 8 sand to feed bin of Nordberg Gyradisc crusher.
Recommendation: Flop Gate.
p. Fine Sand Control: Most specification sand limits amount of material minus 100 and 200 mesh.
Recommendation: Sand Screw Classifier.
q. Material Flow Control: Some sand usable as No. 4 x 0 is stock piled. If pit run does not provide sufficient – No. 4 material to produce required tonnage of spec, sans provision is there to divert No. 4 x 0 sand to sand screw.
Recommendation: Flop gate located in – No. 4 product collection circuit of Screen No. 2.
