Roller Mounted Ball Mills

Transmin is proud to announce that we have again expanded our range of standard, low cost roller mounted ball mills. Suitable for
installation in a wide range of applications, Transminʼs heavy duty roller mounted ball mills have been tried and tested by clients worldwide.

With extensive standardisation, these machines are now even more affordable and can be manufactured, assembled and dispatched faster than ever before.

We understand however, that flexibility is very important. Our standard range can be customised as little or as much as you require and may include some of the following :

1. Painting to your site systems.
2. Motors, gearboxes and fluid coupling manufacturers of your preference.
3. Central lube system.

Transmin Ball Mills feature:
Permanent jacking cradles for ease of roller / shaft maintenance.
Water purged inlet pipe seal.
Design and supply of ancillary items such as discharge hopper, discharge pump, classification cyclone etc.
We can also design and supply the dry storage and feeding equipment and / or the agitated storage tanks if required.

Roller Mounted Ball Mills – Australian Engineering & Total Capability

Transmin Roller Mounted Ball Mills are a low cost, easily installed and maintained solution for many process plant grinding operations. Designed for either closed or open circuit grinding, these units can be fitted with single or twin drives depending on the application.

The Transmin Roller Mounted ball mill can be utilised for a wide range of common grinding applications or can be installed to improve process efficiencies by increasing the amount of particle surface area exposed to a reagent solution. Depending on the grinding ratios and particle work index, tonnages up to 25TPH can be handled, with larger tonnages achievable using multiple units.

Steel or rubber liners & lifters can be fitted, and where necessary the design can be modified to utilise rods as the grinding media.

Transmin Roller Mounted Ball Mill features:
Dedicated assembly and testing facilities
Durable, easy access track and roller guards.
Long life polyurethane drive and idle rollers

If required, the units can be supplied pre-assembled complete with ancillary items such as vortex mixing feed hopper, discharge hoppers and fume collection systems. Transmin also have a project division which can provide pricing for complete turn-key grinding / mixing plants.

Roller Mounted Ball Mill Applications
Correct design and installation of the ball mill in the grinding circuit can greatly improve process efficiencies. The use of grinding mills to assist with mixing and reaction of products will avoid the need for grit collection systems to remove inerts such as silicone compounds.

Durable, Easy Access Track & Roller Guards
To provide weather protection of the rollers and tracks, large sturdy guards are fitted to the base frame, complete with weather strips each side. Large inspection doors are fitted each side allowing unhindered access to rollers and bearings.

Dedicated Assembly and Testing Facilities
To ensure absolute reliability from first start-up, Transmin insists on complete trial assembly and test running of ALL roller mounted mills. Client witnessing of testing is greatly encouraged.

Transmin has a dedicated assembly and testing workshop providing a clean environment for mechanical fitting and testing, as well as the ability to handle large quantities of mills efficiently without undue delay.

Standard Sizes and Planning-in Dimensions
Transmin has designed a comprehensive range of heavy duty roller mounted grinding mills, ranging from 1.2m diameter x 2.4m long to 2m diameter by 4m long. Special larger units can also be designed as required for both grinding and scrubbing applications. Upon application, Transmin will confirm the mill diameter, grinding media and drive power. Sizing the Ball Mill As with all conventional grinding mills, the physical size of the grinding mill is a function of the grinding ratio, work index and required throughput, as well as the density and type of the intended grinding media (balls or rods). Should the work index of the material not be readily available, Transmin can arrange for suitable laboratory testing.
